COMMITTEES

The Home & School Association offers numerous committees in which you can become involved.
Whether you prefer to chair a committee or event or simply volunteer on the day-of, there is a spot for you!

Teacher Recognition

Organizes faculty gift fund at Christmas, Lucky Ducks, end of year gifts, and teacher gift cards. Coordinates with room parents for teacher birthdays and teacher appreciation (children recognizing in the classrooms creating cards - not financial gifts).

FUNDRAISING

Manages the Raise Right app and works with Jerri Pabst twice per year for FACTS distribution. Oversees BoxTop program and Amazon Smiles accounts. Familiarity with basic Excel functions preferable.

TIGER FUN RUN

A one-week, "run-a-thon", peer-to-peer fundraising-style event benefitting the school. This event is a one-week, incentive-based fundraising competition between all classrooms at SPC, which ends in a "Fun Run" on Friday afternoon at the end of the week. 

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Secure vendor for school supply needs. Negotiates fundraisings and communicates with school and parents.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL PICNIC

Organizes school picnic for families during the 'back to school' week.

CELEBRATE THE SPIRIT

Organizes a themed gala with dancing, music, raffles, food / beverages, and auctions. The largest fundraising initiative of the school year.

WELCOMING/NEW FAMILIES

Organizes pairing of families wanting to meet others in the SPC community. Communicates with each new family about HSA and getting involved. Assists with summer events for new families. 

Organizes opportunities for families to meet throughout the school year, e.g. Tears & Cheers, Mom / Dad nights, Munchkin Mornings, Parent Outings. Works closely with New Family Committee when needed.

ROOM PARENTS

Assigns room parents per each teacher based on interest level from parents. Communicates with teachers and administrative team on needs for the classrooms. Oversight of room parents throughout the year and their participation. Communicates with teachers at the start of the year to determine needs per classroom. Organizes end of year survey for feedback on room parents (confidential) from teachers.

HOSPITALITY

Organizes monthly teacher lunches, sponsored by each grade level. Also supplies refreshments for smaller events, Open Houses, welcome nights, etc.

RESTAURANT FUNDRAISING

Organizes monthly restaurant support nights benefitting the school. If students participate, they are given an out-of-uniform pass for the following school day!

Organizes school directory at the start of the year.

SPIRIT COMMITTEE

Organizes spirit wear pop-up store and fundraisers, such as superbowl squares and other sports-related family friendly activities.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Organizes annual dances (or events) for Father/Daughter and Mother/Son activities.

Organizes special activities sponsored by HSA (such as drive in movies, festivals, and other events TBD).

fun fair

Plan and execute our Halloween-themed event with a carnival-like atmosphere. Solicit and organize committees to assist with decorations, candy and day of volunteers to run games. Implement raffles and rewards.

social media

Assists Communications Director with social media and website updates as needed.

book fair

Coordinates the book fair and volunteers twice per year with school librarian.  Coordinates use of Scholastics Dollars with HASA board and Teacher Recognition committee.

Coordinates SPC annual Olympics with Kelly Spanos.
